Marketing Your Local Bike Shop

 

Craig Gaulzetti and Jeff Huckleberry are owners of Summer Cycles in Del Mar, California.  This is not your typical bike shop.  Jeff and Craig built custom bicycles for the road or trails you want to ride.

So when Jeff and Craig came to us in 2019, they wanted to increase both in-store and online traffic.  In addition, they wanted to create more community engagement, sell through e-commerce and generate better leads. 

Furthermore, many of Summer Cycles’ clients are not local.  Jeff and Craig build custom bicycles for cycling enthusiasts across the U.S.  So we needed a way to reach individuals that may never even step into the shop.

 

Creating a Great experience 

 

Individuals are seeking more custom experiences in the sports they participate in.  As a result, they want to purchase tools that enhance those experiences.

For many long-time cyclists, the pinnacle of the bike experience is to own a custom built bicycle.  One that’s designed for their unique style of riding and racing. 

Summer Cycles provides this experience in-person, but we needed a way to showcase that incredible customer service from the moment someone engages with the brand.

 

Reaching Your CustomerS online

 

First, we’ve created an online presence for Summer Cycles that provides authentic and engaging content.  Second, we share this content via email, on Facebook, Instagram, and through Google search, display and remarketing ads.

When a potential customer is seeking a new bicycle, they start by doing research.  What are the benefits of a custom bicycle?  Why get a bike fit?  What are the costs?  So we want to answer their questions on the Summer Cycles website.  

As we’ve implemented these digital marketing strategies for Summer Cycles, the shop has seen growth in both in-store traffic as well as online inquires.
